Contractor software · a practical comparison
FREEDOM vs Contractor Foreman: compare the work, then the price.
A useful comparison starts with your crew’s work and the permissions they need. Understand the plan limits and financial tradeoffs before judging price.
Compare the work, then the plan.
FREEDOM is an operations platform with up to ten users in its base subscription. Contractor Foreman is a construction suite with different user limits and feature tiers. Neither the lowest advertised price nor a longer feature list tells you which workflow your crew will use.
Bring a five-workflow checklist.
Scroll across the table to compare all columns. You can also focus the table and use the arrow keys.
| Workflow | FREEDOM | What to check in Contractor Foreman |
|---|---|---|
| Daily plan | Projects, tasks, schedules and owner priorities. | Confirm scheduling and project tools for your plan. |
| Crew record | Project-linked time and weekly timesheets. | Confirm time-card access for every required user. |
| Equipment | Reservations, availability and maintenance history. | Review equipment/vehicle records for your workflow. |
| Money | Separate estimating, invoicing and accounting tools. | Review estimates, invoices and other financial features by tier. |
| Shared records | Permissions and company documents. | Confirm documents, outside access and required plan limits. |
Annual and monthly prices are different decisions.
Scroll across the table to compare all columns. You can also focus the table and use the arrow keys.
| Plan / included users | Annual commitment | Month-to-month |
|---|---|---|
| Basic / 1 | $588/year (displayed as $49/month) | Not offered monthly |
| Standard / up to 3 | $1,264/year (displayed as $105/month) | $139/month |
| Plus / up to 8 | $1,997/year (displayed as $166/month) | $199/month |
| Pro / up to 15 | $2,654/year (displayed as $221/month) | $279/month |
Published monthly equivalents are rounded; use the annual total for the commitment. Features differ by plan. These examples are not a complete feature quotation. Check the current plan matrix and terms.
FREEDOM is $89/month for up to 10 users, with additional users at $5/user/month. A solo contractor choosing Contractor Foreman’s annual Basic plan pays a lower subscription than FREEDOM. For a larger crew, compare the plan and access actually required; do not assume Basic covers the same users or financial needs.
Decide what belongs with the project.
Contractor Foreman documents a financial feature set including estimates and invoices. If those records must stay connected inside your construction software, evaluate that capability directly.
FREEDOM does not calculate estimates, proposals, bids, invoices, job costs, payroll or accounting. Keep that work in specialized tools. FREEDOM does not integrate with QuickBooks. Include the cost and manual handoffs of your retained tools before drawing a total-cost conclusion.
Test an equipment conflict and a busy Friday.
Choose a project that needs shared equipment. Decide where to check availability, where the reservation belongs and who sees a schedule change. Then review a week of crew hours: can the owner follow the time back to the project and handle exceptions without reconstructing the week?
FREEDOM’s job-site geofences check at Clock In/Out. Outside punches are retained and flagged for review; there is no continuous employee tracking. Test that workflow in each shortlisted tool with the roles and access your crew needs.
Use fictional or appropriately authorized evaluation data. Keep your financial source records intact while testing. No automatic Contractor Foreman import or migration service is implied.
A practical choice for a small contractor.
Shortlist FREEDOM when…
You want projects, crew time, customers and equipment connected, while your existing financial software remains responsible for the numbers. See those contractor workflows.
Shortlist Contractor Foreman when…
You want to evaluate financial and construction features together, and its appropriate plan meets your required user access. Inspect the plan matrix instead of buying from the headline price alone.
